Tonal Metronome provides a pitched tonal center and very slow tempos for musical practice.
Tonal Metronome is offered as is at perrywhittle.com/tonalMetronome/.
There are some musical exercises—such as modal or pentatonic scales—that have a vague tonal center. Hearing a tonal center during such exercises helps musicians hear the correct context and thereby practice these exercises musically.
Tonal Metronome plays a repeating user-selectable bass tone to provide a tonal center.
Some musicians like to practice some exercises with a metronome at a very slow setting. The slow tempo provides practice subdividing the pulse. Such practice can help increase speed and improve sense of rhythm.
Tonal Metronome provides tempos from 20 to 240 beats per minute.
Tonal Metronome requires a current web browser that supports modern web audio API. The web audio API is required for reliable audio.
